Dirty Beaches is the one-man project of Alex Zhang Hungtai. His music is described as lo-fi minimalist rockabilly, rearranging timeless sounds of a distant past to create a nostalgic brand of experimental music. So far he’s released several tapes and 7 inches, but this will be his first proper LP, scheduled for release by Zoo Music on March 29, 2011. As far as I’m concerned, this music is beyond cool.
