Disappears – Guider

Kranky released Disappears’ Guider a couple of months ago, but if you still haven’t picked it up, it’s definitely worth your time. The album consists of 6 tracks and clocks in right around 30 minutes, with 15 of those taken up by the final track “Revisiting”. Each song on Guider follows a similar format, alternating between simple, repetitive guitar chugging, and effects-laden psych outbursts, all pushed along by driving rhythms and shouty spurts from singer, Brian Case. These songs are as primal as they are calculated, intended to be felt as much as they are heard. Disappears will play at the Empty Bottle May 6th.

This is the first track on the album, entitled “Superstition.”
