Heavy Times on Giant System TV

Giant System TV is an ongoing project that chronicles the local music scene in Chicago through capturing footage of bands playing in their respective practice spaces. It’s kind of an intimate, straightforward, and candid way of featuring the local groups, and the sound and video quality is top-notch. The band most recently filmed was Heavy Times, and I think the scattered collection of empty beer cases seen on the floor of their space seems to be the perfect visual representation of their music. If you’re a fan of poppy lo-fi garage, Heavy Times is your jam. Check them out on Giant System TV here.

Also, they’ll be playing a local gig May 19th, 2011 at Schubas where they’ll open for Dirty Beaches. Should be a good one.
