White Hills – H-P1

New York City’s White Hills will be releasing a new 2xLP album through Thrill Jockey. The album is titled H-P1 and will have a street date of June 21, 2011. White Hills pick up where Hawkwind left off, working within the genre of space rock, crafting giant slabs of neo-psych tunage. I guess this album is supposed to be a concept album that focuses on anti-consumerism, but that’s kind of a moot point because the real highlight of White Hills isn’t so much their message as it is their giant sound. If you’re into HUGE distorted guitars and effects-laden psych noodling, you’re in the right place. Have a listen to “The Condition of Nothing,” which will serve as the opening track on H-P1. Enjoy.
